The Different Company was born with this century, to
offer rare and exceptional products. The brand eschews conventional wisdom,
while respecting certain rules for true luxury, precious and identifiable:
quality, craftsmanship, difference, materials, rarity and modernity.
Thierry de Baschmakoff, with Jean-Claude Ellena and now Céline Ellena his
daughter, decided to launch The Different Company to propose a true "haute
parfumerie" and designed concept. His objective was to develop exceptional
products without constraints.
Thierre de Baschmakoff, art director for The Different Company, is a well known
and respected designer with an extensive experience in product design for
prestigious luxury houses worldwide. He epitomizes the idea of luxury embedded
in creative products.
Jean-Claude Ellena, one of the most successful perfume composer of our time,
has created First for Van Cleef & Arpels, Jardins de Méditerranée for
Hermes, Thé Vert for Bulgari, Déclaration for Cartier. Céline is widely
considered as the most promising perfume composer among women in her
generation. She has been able to create five fragrances for the Different
Company in less than 18 months, including "Sel de Vetiver",
celebrated by The New York Times T Magazine as a 5 star fragrance in 2006.
