Bitter Orange - AirEssence Diffuser 7.4oz
Bitter Orange was the fragrance of Agraria's very first product in 1970 – a handmade potpourri. This signature fragrance is a complex and subtle blend that permeates the air with addictive waves of clove, the zest of bitter orange and just a touch of cypress. It’s unique, spicy fragrance has been described by The New York Times as “uplifting, mysterious and androgynous in its appeal.”
Agraria was introduced in New York in 1975, at the front door of the original Henri Bendel’s at 10 West 57th, and each time someone opened the door, the fragrance floated out onto the sidewalk. Vogue Magazine quoted Michael Kors as saying, “I just thought 57th Street smelled like Bitter Orange.”
Agraria's next generation of AirEssence™ now diffuses through sola flowers - made one at a time - by skilled artisans using the dried peel of the tapioca plant that is sewn onto a cotton wick. In keeping with the Agraria definition of “from the earth”, sola flowers - also referred to as balsa wood flowers - are a natural material and environmentally friendly.
As the fragrant essential oils are absorbed through the cotton wick, the flower petals will change to the color of the oil as the scent diffuses into the air.
Gift boxed with a crystal glass tray and 2 sola flowers.
