Dark, mineral, and quietly commanding, Iris Tannat explores an unexpected facet of iris. At its heart, Bavarian Iris pallida reveals its distinctive clarity and velvety powder - not soft or cosmetic, but deepened by earth, wood, and the atmosphere of a cellar.

Wine lees, rum, and Burgundian oak barrel CO₂ lend a tannic warmth, while suede and patchouli give the composition a supple, shadowed texture. Bavarian Iris germanica extract brings a gentle floral sweetness, lifted by rose and ylang-ylang and grounded in vetiver marc and nutmeg.

Named for the structured, dark wines of the Pyrenees, Iris Tannat is a bold and enigmatic interpretation of iris: elegant, contoured, and unusually dark.

ABOUT DANNER & FLEMMING

Founded in Bavaria by farmer Christian Danner and biologist Marcel Flemming, Danner & Flemming is one of the few perfume houses in the world to cultivate, process, and transform its own iris into fragrance.

What began as a scientific research project evolved into a pioneering agricultural and perfumery venture centered on one of the world's most precious raw materials. The iris rhizomes are grown for years in the fertile soils of Lower Bavaria before being harvested, carefully dried using a patented refinement process, matured, and transformed into highly concentrated extracts and precious iris butter.

Created in collaboration with master perfumer Antoine Lie, each fragrance showcases a different iris variety grown by the founders themselves. Produced only from the annual harvest, every perfume is a limited millésime edition, with each bottle individually numbered.
